The Hybrid Wood Tower by DIALOG is a proposed 105-story skyscraper in Toronto, featuring a hybrid structure of timber, steel, and concrete. The design emphasizes sustainability, aiming to be net-zero in carbon emissions. It incorporates innovative systems like photovoltaics on its facades and an algae bioreactor to absorb CO2 emissions from its co-generating power system. The use of cross-laminated timber (CLT) and hybrid timber floor systems allows for open, spacious layouts, reducing material waste and enhancing efficiency.
With a height of 460 meters, the project demonstrates the potential of tall timber buildings in addressing climate change. Its design symbolizes a shift toward greener urban architecture, integrating advanced construction techniques and sustainable energy solutions.
